Biografía

Soprano and teacher

She studied piano under Granados and Rosa Culmell. She debuted at Palau de la Música in 1913 singing the role of a flower maiden in a concert version of Wagner's Parsifal. From that time on, she developed a great career and got composers such as Granados, Pahissa, Gerhard and Pau Casals to composer for her voice. Between 1915 and 1930, she toured around Europe. Later on between 1938 and 1946, she lived in exile in Brazil and Argentina, where she worked with composers such Villa-Lobos and Falla. After returning to Barcelona, she was appointed professor of the Conservatori Superior and organized singing courses around the world.
