He started as a self-taught musician around the Barcelonian group Els vuit in the postwar period and received advice from Cristòfor Taltabull. In 1946 he begun composing. A year later, together with Manuel Valls, he founded the Cercle Manuel de Falla. Over a hundred works have been preserved, mostly chamber, symphonic, religious and scenic music.
