After receiving the first lessons in his family circle, he studied at the Escola Municipal of Barcelona. Later, he studied trumpet with Lluís Rovira. His quick learning allowed him to join various dance orchestras. Due to the impact of the Battle of the Ebro, he moved to the USSR, and was interned in a prison camp between 1941 and 1949. He returned to Barcelona in 1957 as a repatriate , and in 1959 he was a music critic for Radio Juventud de Barcelona. He composed music and is renowned for some symphonic music.
