Biografía

Singer and actress

At the age of seven, he took part in the performances of El corazón de un bandido at Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. In 1882 he made his debut as the first tiple of a zarzuela company at the Teatre Principal in Figueres. In 1883 he travelled to Madrid and, until 1888, performed in the theatres of the Circo, Variedades, Maravillas and Felipe.

Between 1888 and 1915 he was part of the company of Teatro Apolo in Madrid, where he took part in the premiere of La verbena de la Paloma (1894), El baile de Luis Alonso (1896), Agua, azucarillos y aguardiente (1897), La Revoltosa (1897), La reina mora (1903) or Las bribonas (1908), among others.

He specialized in roles of the chico genre, creating reference performances such as tía Antonia in La verbena de la Paloma.
