He pursued a religious career. At some point he studied composition with Francesc Andreví. From 1819, he became Kapellmeister of Santa Maria del Mar and remained in office for thirty years. Although some sources describe his music as distinctive from the religious music canons, they also mentioned the success it had among parishioners.
